NFCC ELECTRONIC MEETING RULES
(as dictated by President Isely on 3/30/98)

RRO does not address time-limits since it assumes the "body" is meeting FTF [Face-to-Face] and therefore has time-limits (specified sessions).  Until such time as formal electronic meeting rules are adopted by the membership, the chair will use the following procedural rules that are different from, or not addressed in, Roberts Rules of Order:

1. Definition of "electronic" when used in these rules:
A facsimile (FAX) document, a recorded voice telephone call, an email    message, or on-line electronic "chat" message.

2. Number of Electronic Seconds to an Electronic Motion:
Two electronic seconds required for all electronic motions.

3. Seconding an Electronic Motion:
Maximum of 24 hours to post a second.  The time period starts from the time an electronic motion, or an amended electronic motion, is posted. At the expiration of this time, the electronic motion is considered to have failed for lack of required electronic seconds.

4. Electronic Voting:
Minimum of two weeks for electronic balloting.  If a minimum (two week) voting period includes all or part of a three day holiday weekend, the deadline shall be extended to midnite of the first day following such a weekend.
